Paguma larvata - Masked palm civet

A number of the specimens in the markets were apparently captive bred although many had obvious snare trap wounds.

Preparation of the civets involved dunking them into a vat of boiling water/oil and then stripping them of their fur. The picture below shows a dead civet blur being dunked in the vat before being depillated.
